BCS Texas MLS

Aggieland

The sister cities of Bryan and College Station, Texas, are not only home to the famous Texas A&M University campus, but also to some of the most desirable real estate in southeast central Texas.

The Bryan/College Station area, often referred to simply as “BCS,” is also known as “Aggieland,” and students and alumni of Texas A&M University are known as “Aggies,” a nickname that dates back to the days when the University was known by its full original title, “Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University.”

Metropolitan Statistics

The Bryan/College Station Metropolitan Statistical Area, which incorporates land and communities in three counties and centers around the BCS area, is home to about 190,000 people and is the sixteenth largest metropolitan area in the state.

Second Homes

Many parents with students enrolled at the University or at Bryan’s Blinn College consider buying a property listed on the BCS, Texas MLS, either as a second home for themselves or as an off-campus residence for their grown children. BCS, Texas MLS listings also offer an excellent opportunity for investors, who will find no shortage of renters for a single-family home, condo, or multi-family property.

Employment

Texas A&M University is the area’s largest employer, with over 30,000 employees serving the University’s 45,000 students. In fact, a good portion of people who invest in a BCS, Texas MLS property are affiliated in some way with the University. St. Joseph Regional Health Center and the Bryan and College Station Independent School Districts are other major area employers.  College Station is home to a number of business parks including the Texas A&M University Research Park, which is home to facilities of a number of well-known companies including Hewlett-Packard, AdventGX, Lynntech, and Schlumberger.

Texas MLS

Of course, the BCS, Texas MLS is appealing for more reasons than just the presence of the University. Properties in the heart of “Aggieland” offer convenience to four of Texas’s major cities: Austin, Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, and San Antonio, all less than 170 miles away.  The Gulf Coast, with its beautiful beaches, is less than 100 miles from properties featured in the BCS, Texas MLS.  BSC real estate is also easily accessible from all over the nation. With local airports, Easterwood Airport (located on the Texas A&M University campus) and Bryan’s Coulter Field Airport, it’s easy to find daily service to Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston.
