How is the Security Deposit Refunded?

ANSWER: The security deposit refund is mailed to you within 30 days of your lease expiration date.

The security deposit refund is mailed to you within 30 days of your lease expiration date. The security deposit refund is mailed to the first forwarding address provided to us on the Notice to Vacate Form. If you do not provide a forwarding address we are required to send it to your last known address.

The refund check is made payable to all residents on the lease at the time the lease contract or renewal period expires. No portion of the security deposit will be refunded until the expiration of your lease contract or renewal period. If you have a pet deposit the non-refundable fee will be automatically deducted and the remainder will be added to the security deposit.

If there are multiple residents on the lease, you are required to have each person endorse the check, in order to deposit it. If you would like to dispute any items deducted from your security deposit you must submit a deposit dispute in writing. Please see the Deposit Dispute Form.
