Don’t even think about purchasing an AT&T Digital Life Security System.

An AT&T Digital Life Security System is an expensive JOKE and a purchase with them will push you to the very depths of your patience!  You can quote me on this.

2/10/16 I paid for the digital life system at an AT&T store in College Station, TX.   I waited a month to get it installed. They sent one person who was at my house for 9 hours on March 1, 2016 and he wasn’t able to completely finish the job. He didn’t bring all the equipment with him and explained that he would need to come back. The technician wanted to leave because it was after 9:00 PM but he showed me what the system was designed to do at 9:00 pm. the system was never fully operational.  He and I together at my computer could not make out the physical features of a single person who came to the door or who walked across the front room. We even had the cameras down at chest level. The cameras were of such a poor quality that even the technician who installed them had to apologize about it. I called to cancel the service the very next day and it took weeks for them to come back to remove the cameras. They left holes in the house. They refused to reconnect my preexisting pre-wired door alarms and continued to bill me 2 months after cancellation.  So my home was less secure after they left than when they came.

5-16-16 I was billed $46.26 for a monthly fee for the digital life system from AT&T. I called at 1:30 pm and at 3:10 pm the issue was still not resolved. Akita employee ID#AJ565V took the call, reviewed her records and informed me that their records indicated that they installed at my home on on Feb 10, 2016 and that it was removed on March 1st and that the account was canceled on March 8, 2016.

This information was totally incorrect and bogus.

The True Story: The system was actually purchased on Feb 10, 2016 partially installed on March 1.   On 3-2-16  I called to have the system removed. On 3-4-16  I called again to have the system removed. On  3-7-16  I called the business department AGAIN about refunding me and to get my digital locks and 3 thermostats returned which they took. It’s been a nightmare and a total waste of time and extreme frustration. AT&T told me that they would NOT reconnect my pre-wired door alarms and that they would NOT fix the holes they drilled for the horrible cameras that didn’t work, and that they would NOT give me back the thermostats that they removed which were better than the ones they installed. The installer lost my front door digital lock that he removed.

3-7-16  I got disconnected after 2 hours of  being transferred from department to department at AT&T. I called the credit card company to help expedite the termination.

So the security of my home was actually worse after the installer destroyed the pre-existing pre-wired door alarms .

5-16-16 I was billed $46.26 for a monthly fee for the digital life system from AT&T. I called at 1:pm and at 3:10 the issue was still not resolved with Akita employee ID#AJ565V who took the call and repeated many times, ‘Mam, I understand your frustration.’ 2:45 pm. I demanded to speak with her supervisor. Her supervisor, Erica ID#ET1591 in the billing department reread through my records and indicated at 3:15 pm that the issue had been resolved and the charge was now removed.  This was the 3rd time AT&T told me that the issue had been resolved.   Billing department: 855-288-2727 op 2.

I’m just waiting for the next bill and incorrect information.  AT&T billing department is that incompetent!

Save yourself….. DO NOT PURCHASE AN AT&T DIGITAL LIFE SECURITY SYSTEM .. EVER!

You’re welcome to provide my true evaluation and first hand experience of the AT&T Digital Life Security System to the world!

Thanks for your time.

Most Sincerely,

Myke Leatham, a more experienced consumer about security systems.  Hopefully someone can learn from my mistake.
