Brazos County Cost of Living

Brazos County is a beautiful and vibrant part of Texas, located in the southeast central part of the state. Brazos County residents are nearly equidistant from the cities of Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio — making Brazos County a great central point to enjoy all of the best that Texas has to offer. Brazos County was originally named for the beautiful Brazos River, and the area features beautiful verdant landscapes and is known as a productive agricultural region.

Brazos County residents are also conveniently located to one of the area’s biggest and best features — Texas A&M University. Texas A&M University is located in the bustling and thriving College Station, Texas, approximately 90 miles northwest of Houston and situated just a couple of hours from Dallas and Austin. Texas A&M University is the sixth largest university in the United States, and boasts nearly one half million alumni worldwide. Texas A&M is home to some of the most revered collegiate traditions and some of the best college sports you will find in the nation. Regardless of what you enjoy, you are sure to find it here on campus.

College Station, in particular, is not only one of the fastest growing cities in Brazos County, it is also one of the most rapidly expanding cities in the United States. The overall cost of living is generally lower in College Station than the Texas average and the national average, but there is one exception to this rule — real estate.
