BCS Real Estate

The Bryan-College Station (BCS) metropolitan area is the sixteenth largest city in the state of Texas. Home to approximately 190,000 residents, Bryan-College Station is in close proximity to Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas.

BCS real estate is thriving, for the area not only appeals to students who aspire to attend Texas A&M University, but also to families and young professionals as well. The economy is very strong, and the unemployment rate in the area is among the lowest in the nation. BCS real estate is also popular for the excellent educational opportunities it provides residents, at the world-renowned Texas A&M University, as well as the award-winning College Station Independent School District.

Community and Culture

Bryan-College Station is also known for its high culture and recreational opportunities. There are several art galleries, museums, historical sites, regional theater and musical groups, which include the New York City National Opera, Brazos Valley Chorale, the Aggie Players, and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. In addition, Texas A&M University and the Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater attract both national and international performing artists. Since the opening of the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum in November of 1997,  the number of theater productions has risen considerably.

Seasonal performances of the Theatre Company of Bryan-College Station include Annie Warbucks, Cabaret, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, and much more.  The Aggie Players perform in both spring and fall semesters, offering top-notch entertainment of all styles. The Brazos Valley Chorale and the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra delight BCS residents and visitors with series of concerts that commence in October and continue through May of each year. Brazos Valley T.R.O.U.P.E. is one of BCS’ newest theater groups to hit the local stage, and is largely centered on family entertainment.

The art galleries in BCS consist of the Benjamin Knox Gallery, Benz Gallery of Floral Art, The Texas Gallery, MSC Forsyth Center Galleries, Wayne Stark and the University Center Galleries. Those who choose to invest in BCS real estate are also interested in the area museums, which include the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley, the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, and the Sam Houston Sanders Corps of Cadets Center.

Texas A&M University

Comprising the bulk of the BCS real estate and the area economy, Texas A&M University is a top-notch educational institution, serving thousands of students. Texas A&M has consistently ranked in the forefront over the past ten years among public universities in Texas, especially with regard to overall retention rates. The university proudly keeps its students enrolled and on course for graduation. Texas A&M is also a leader for overall student body and for minorities, including African-American and Hispanic students.

The university offers degrees in more than 150 courses of study through its College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of Architecture, Mays Business School, College of Education and Human Development, Dwight Look College of Engineering, College of Geosciences, College of Liberal Arts, College of Science, College of Veterinary Medicine, and the George Bush School of Government and Public Service. Texas A&M has awarded more than 320,000 degrees, which include more than 70,000 graduate and professional degrees.

The Famous Library

The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum is a big attraction for tourists, as well as those looking into BCS real estate. Built in 1997, the library and museum also comprise a premier research institution that is integrated into the academic environment of Texas A&M University.

The George Bush Library collections include over 38 million pages of official and personal papers, one million photographs, 2,500 hours of videotape, and 70,000 museum objects. There are many documents within the institution that record the former President’s public career as congressman, Ambassador to the United Nations, Chief of the U.S. Liaison Office in China, Chairman of the Republican National Committee, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, U.S. Vice President, and the 41st U.S. President.
