College Station Apartments

College Station is a city located in Brazos County, Texas, nestled in the East Central part of Texas and in the heart of the Brazos Valley. Located north of both Houston and Austin, College Station is home to the flagship campus of Texas A&M University, and is a bustling and thriving city. The city of College Station estimates is population to be just over 102,000 people as of November 2014, based on certificates of occupancy.

The city of College Station is a relatively young municipality, tracing its origination back to the founding of Texas A&M University in 1876. The school’s campus became the focal point and the epicenter of the community and its development, and the area can credit its name to the Postal Service, who designated the area as College Station in 1877. The city of College Station was incorporated in 1938 and, as they say, the rest is history.

College Station also received accolades for work / life balance, education, affordability, and being a great place for veterans and young families.

Retirement Awards

College Station has also received national attention and accolades for being a great place to retire. For instance, USA Today lists Bryan-College Station as the Number 4 greatest place to retire, and Forbes lists the city in their top 25 best places to retire. Additionally, Forbes also lists the College Station area in their top 25 cities for working retirement, and USAA ranks them as the 4th best city for military retirement.
