Propane companies are very competitive

Propane Companies

Propane companies are NOT created equal, as we found out.  Gas prices can be double what their competitors are from company to company, so shop around.  We lost a lot of money after building our home for a few years  because we didn’t know that little fact.  Although I don’t personally recommend one company over another, I can tell you the one we’re using and encourage you to call as many companies as you can before settling on one.  This is not a comprehensive list, but this will get you started.  Keep in mind that these propane companies travel quite a distance so you don’t necessarily have to choose one from your immediate area. They even keep track of the level in your tank from satellite!    As you know gas prices are ever changing.  One might make you a good deal if you let them know that the ‘other guy’ is charging less.  Especially when you live in a rural area, it’s a good idea to call around periodically to see who the new companies are and if you can get a better price from time to time.  Some companies can really gouge you on price when you’re not looking.  It may even be a good idea to purchase a second tank so you can fill it up while the prices are low.  Think about the savings over the long run.  I’m not a propane gas expert, just a consumer.  But I’ve had a lot of customers who have run into the same problems I have over the years…. We live and learn.

Thinking about burying your propane tank?  Better read this first! In College Station, TX we have a lot of clay.  When water sits in a hole it makes a pool  🙂   Ever seen a floating tank?  Better install it correctly the first time and make sure it won’t leak into your natural resources over time.

I’m always here if you need me.
