Help keep your trick-or-treaters happy and safe this Halloween with these important tips:

  • Carving jack-o’-lanterns? Use battery operated candles and remember to turn them off!

  • Go trick-or-treating in a group and communicate where you will be going.

  • Add reflective tape to costumes and trick-or-treat bags.

  • Use well-lit streets and always use the sidewalk.

  • If no sidewalk is available, walk at the far edge of the roadway facing traffic.

  • Do not cut across yards or use alleys. Use designated crosswalks.

  • Don’t assume you have the right of way. Drivers may not see you!

The Texas A&M Agronomy Society is back this year with its highly popular corn maze.

Texas A&M Agronomy Society.
There’s nothing quite like getting lost in the middle of a corn field! Bring some friends and explore this 5 acre attraction. We provide a fun, family friendly fall experience for BCS residents. This year in addition to the corn maze, we will have a pumpkin patch, vegetable garden, and booths with different activities. The maze is student managed and all proceeds support the Texas A&M Agronomy Society.

  • The 30th annual Wendish Fest celebrates the unique Wendish culture in Texas. A traditional Wendish meal of sausage, sauerkraut, homemade Wendish noodles, green beans, beets, peaches, and homemade bread will be served, and a snack booth is available.
  • Activities include polka music, a Wendish celebration of Ptaĉi Kwas (Bird Wedding), a coffee cake bakeoff, demonstrations of noodle-making, sausage-stuffing, weaving, knitting, Wendish Easter egg decorating, and more.
  • Children’s activities include barrel train rides, coloring contest, stick horse races, corn shelling, and Klettern Pfosten (greased pole climbing). On-site Christmas and Easter markets will offer items from Germany and Wendish culture.
